Andrew McRobertBDS

Andy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1997 having won prizes for conservative dentistry and the best elective project. As part of his elective he studied at the University of Iowa Dental School in the USA at their department of Endodontics. His research project was later published in the International Endodontic Journal.

After graduating, Andy went into general dental practice for one year at a practice in Bromsgrove before being offered a position at Albert Road Dental Practice. Whilst developing his career here in general practice he also gave much of his time to teaching postgraduate courses on modern techniques in endodontics (root canal fillings) at various centres around the Midlands and continues to do so today. He also held a position of honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry for three years teaching, on the undergraduate clinics.

After further training in the USA and having set up endodontic referral clinics in both Birmingham and Buckinghamshire, Andy decided to concentrate his efforts in Evesham at the Albert Road Dental Practice. Having become a Partner in the practice he was able to combine his enjoyment of general dental practice with an endodontic referral service at the same location.

He aims to give the highest quality dental treatment to all of his patients in a professional yet relaxed environment. He is a member of the British Dental Association and the British Endodontic Society. Outside of work he spends most of his time with his family enjoying the role of being a Dad.

Susan BagnallRDH Cert OHE BSC

Sue’s career in dentistry started when she left school. She initially worked as a dental technician and then went on to train as a dental nurse at the Birmingham Dental Hospital. She achieved the hospital qualification and the National Certificate in dental nursing. After 11 years working as a dental nurse she went on to gain the Royal Society of Health Certificate in Oral Health Education and her enthusiasm for working closely with patients to improve their oral health led her to study dental hygiene. Sue gained her qualification in dental hygiene from King's College Hospital in 1996. She is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.

In 2012, Sue graduated from the University of Kent with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Primary Dental Care. She writes articles for a variety of dental publications and her keen interest in continuing professional development has led her to develop a website for dental nurses and organise and present lectures for other dental care professionals.

Sue is passionate about her work and committed to providing her patients with high quality dental care to improve their oral health, using the best of modern materials and technology in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Sue is married to Gil and they have one son, Andrew. Her hobbies include travelling, socialising and frequent visits to the cinema.

Gil BagnallRDH

Gil has over 30 years' experience in dentistry starting off as a young dental technician in central Birmingham and later gaining experience in a few select dental laboratories. This enabled him to study for his City & Guilds Intermediate & Advanced Certificate in Dental Technology inside two years instead of the recommended five years, at Matthew Boulton Technical College Birmingham.

After a brief spell of just over one year working and looking after his son Andrew at home while his wife Sue went to London to train as a dental hygienist, he decided he needed to explore other avenues of dentistry. He spent the next year working for a colleague in Birmingham as a dental nurse. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting and communicating with patients everyday. This introduced him to patient care and patient compliance combined with a good team approach in a practice environment. This led him to consider dental hygiene as the next step in his career.

After applying to several dental hospitals, Gil was lucky enough to be accepted into King's Dental Hospital. While at King's, Gil developed clinical and verbal skills which helped him gain his qualification in dental hygiene in 2001.

Since his graduation, Gil has thoroughly enjoyed working with the team and patients at Albert Road Dental Practice.

Gil is a good listener and motivator. His emphasis is on providing quality patient care with a gentle approach. He also loves to hear about patients' worldwide travels and adventures.

Gil is a member of the General Dental Council, British Society of Dental Hygienists & Therapists Association, and reviews dental books for journals. He works hard keeping his wife happy and following his beloved Manchester United (he enjoys football banter with some of his patients).
