ALBERT ROAD DENTAL PRACTICE COVID-19 ADVICE

UPDATE:  29TH MAY 2020

Dear friends and patients of Albert Road Dental Practice.

We hope that all of you have been able to stay safe and well through this difficult time, and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all at the practice as soon as it is safe to do so.

You may have seen an announcement made by the government on 28th May advising that dental surgeries can re-open on 8th June 2020.  This announcement was made without the knowledge of the dental profession, and we are concerned that it may have given a worryingly over-simplified impression of how dental services might resume.

We have been working hard during the lockdown period to keep up to date with information and developments that will allow us to re-open in as safe a way as possible.  The safety of our patients and staff remains our absolute priority, and to that end we have been formulating procedures and carrying out risk assessments to ensure that when we do re-open, we are doing everything possible to keep all of you safe when you come to see us.

The threat of the Coronavirus is very much still with us, and whilst we have formulated plans to re-open the Practice, these plans will be subject to change according to levels of Coronavirus in the community, and the availability of specialised PPE (personal protective equipment).  It may well take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal.

Currently we plan to open in a limited capacity for urgent cases from Monday 15th June 2020.  Initially this will be for patients who have urgent need, and for cases that we have been managing via remote advice during the lockdown period.  These patients must arrange an appointment and follow a strict protocol for their visit.  Full details of this protocol will be given to the patient by telephone at the time of making the appointment, and will also be available on our website (please refer to our news page).

We will be reviewing availability of PPE and levels of Coronavirus at weekly intervals to see if we can gradually increse both the number of patient visits and the range of dental procedures that we can safely perform.  Naturally, we will keep you all informed of these developments.

In the meantime, if you have an urgent dental problem that you need to contact us about , please call the practice (reception will be manned from 8th June 2020), or our emergency mobile numbers:  07983 357705 or 07983 357572.  Our out of hours service remains operational, (see below).

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE 25th March 2020

To our patients and friends of Albert Road Dental Practice,

Our team has been working tirelessly to keep Albert Road Dental Practice a clean and safe environment for you. As a dental practice we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything we do. In addition to our usual scrupulous cross infection control measures we have been paying particular close attention to all Government guidance and updates related more specifically to Covid-19.

Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the rapidly spreading nature of the Covid-19 virus we feel we must use our clinical judgement to act in the best interests of our patients and staff. We also feel it is essential to do our part in limiting the spread of the virus, and therefore, regrettably, we have taken the decision to temporarily close the practice. We cannot give a date when normal practice services can be resumed, but rest assured we will work towards this as soon as it is feasible. We will endeavor to keep everyone updated via information on our website www.albertroaddentalpractice.co.uk

Looking after the health of our patients is our priority, and we will be operating an Emergency Telephone Consultation service for our patients during this period of closure. This service will be for patients who are experiencing urgent dental pain or dental/facial swelling symptoms. please call 01386 442207.  Alternatively patients can call:

07983 357705 or 07983 357572 (one of these mobile numbers will be operational during normal surgery hours if our reception team is not available).

Local Urgent Dental Care Centres are now operational in Worcestershire.  Patients with severe dental emergencies can now be referred by us following a telephone consultation / triage procedure.  Please contact the above mobile telephone numbers for advice.  Please note that access to these centres is only possible via your own dental practice, and only following a telephone triage procedure.

If you a patient who already has an appointment scheduled our reception team will be contacting you to rearrange these appointments as soon as possible.

As a team we are doing everything possible to stay fit, well and able to work so that we can continue our usual high standard of dental care for when you return.

Thank you for your support, and please, stay safe.

The team at Albert Road Dental Practice
