He has been highly dedicated and involved in the society for many years, after being placed on the specialist Endodontist register back in 2001.
On May 10th 2016 the BSE and Sir Paul Beresford MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group of Dentistry, held an interactive event in the Houses of Parliament to raise awareness of the value of root canal treatment. A number of attended the drop-in event and met BSE present Mike Waplington and his team of specialist endodontic experts in their efforts to campaign for better recognition of root canal treatment in the reform of the NHS contract.
Mike has helped organise and coordinate a national dental conference at the NIA in Birmingham, this joint event in conjunction with other specialist dental societies covered such diverse topics as implantology, root canal treatment and presented surgical cases in 3 dimensions using state of the art projection techniques.
He has presented in Europe, Asia and the USA, and continues to regularly teach hands-on endodontic courses throughout the UK and lecture to undergraduates at the University of Birmingham on an occasional basis.
In his role as the President Elect, Mike continues to thrive, support the BES and offer specialist Endodontic treatment in Birmingham and Evesham.
Mike Waplington had the honour of being appointed the President of The British Endodontic Society (BSE).
