Veneers

If you’re looking for a complete transformation, then veneers could be an excellent choice. Veneers are special custom-made shells – designed in consultation with you – that are bonded to the surface of your teeth and help to create a beautiful new smile.

Covering a range of issues

Porcelain veneers are a quick, effective and attractive way to resolve a range of problems, including:

  • Misshapen and crooked teeth
  • Chipped, worn and damaged teeth, including teeth that have suffered excessive teeth grinding or jaw clenching
  • Gaps, especially where orthodontic treatment may not be suitable
  • Stained and discoloured teeth
  • Misalignment

From the minute you pick up the phone to make an appointment, to the moment you leave the practice, our friendly, experienced team will be here for you.

The process

We’ll start with a consultation to ensure that veneers are right for you and to decide the exact result you’d like. We’ll then take detailed moulds of your mouth and send them to the dental laboratory. The dental technicians then use porcelain to create beautiful, hard-wearing veneers that look, feel and reflect the light just like natural teeth. We’ll prep your teeth and then bond the veneers to the front of them.

The benefits of veneers

  • Whiter, more even teeth
  • Realistic and natural look
  • Long-lasting
  • Strong and durable
  • Stain resistant
  • A quick and easy procedure
  • Can be used to complement other treatments

FAQ's

Hidden
How long does the process of fitting veneers take?
The entire process – from consultation to final fitting – usually takes an average of three weeks, and we may provide you with temporary veneers while the final product is being prepared. It usually takes around two hours for the veneers to be fitted during the final appointment.
Does it hurt?
We provide local anaesthetic to ensure that the treatment is as painless as possible.
How long do veneers last?
Providing you look after them, your veneers could last as long as 20 years.
Do veneers take a lot of upkeep?
Once fitted, veneers are very low maintenance. However, we recommend that all of our patients take good care of their teeth, including regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups. Some people may experience increased sensitivity after having veneers fitted, so we’d also recommend caution when having very hot and/or cold food and drink.
Will veneers permanently alter my teeth?
In most cases, we will need to prepare the front of the teeth by filing down the enamel – the thin outer layer of the tooth’s surface – before having the veneers put in place. This is a permanent alteration, which is why we take you through the process in detail during your consultation, to ensure that veneers are right for you.
How breakable are veneers?
Veneers are incredibly tough. However, to avoid having to repair or replace your veneers, we recommend avoiding grinding your teeth or eating excessively hard foods.
