Am I too old for orthodontic treatment?
Not at all. There is no upper age limit for orthodontic treatment. As long as your teeth and gums are healthy, adult braces or aligners can be just as effective as treatment carried out in adolescence. In fact, many of our adult patients tell us they wish they'd started sooner. Our orthodontic dentist will assess your suitability at your initial consultation and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you.
How long will my treatment take?
Treatment times vary depending on the complexity of your case and the type of treatment chosen. Some cases can be completed in as little as six months, while more complex corrections may take 18 to 24 months or longer. We'll give you a realistic estimate during your consultation so you know what to expect from the outset.
Will braces affect my speech or daily life?
There is usually a short settling-in period of a week or two during which you may notice a slight change to your speech or some initial discomfort. Most patients adapt very quickly and find that braces or aligners have minimal impact on their day-to-day life. Our team will give you all the guidance you need to feel confident from the start.
Are lingual braces as effective as regular fixed braces?
Yes, lingual braces are made to a very precise, custom specification and are capable of treating the same range of cases as conventional fixed braces. Is orthodontic treatment painful?
